Terms of service

Last updated: 25 April 2026

Welcome to enostos. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website and services ("Services").

enostos is registered in the Netherlands and operates this store via Shopify.

By using our Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you should not use our Services.

1. Access and use

You must be at least 18 years old or the legal age of majority in your country to use our Services.

You agree to provide accurate and complete information when placing an order and to keep your details up to date.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information.

2. Products

We aim to ensure that product descriptions, images, and pricing are accurate. However, minor variations, such as color differences due to screen settings, may occur.

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue products at any time.

Nothing in this section limits your statutory consumer rights.

3. Olive tree adoption

enostos offers a symbolic olive tree adoption experience. By adopting a tree, you are supporting the care and harvest of olive trees located in Kefalonia, Greece.

No ownership
Tree adoption is symbolic and does not grant you any ownership or property rights in:

  • the olive trees

  • the land on which they grow

  • the olive oil produced

All trees and land remain the sole property of enostos and/or its local partners.

No link to a specific tree
While each adoption is associated with a specific tree, the olive oil you receive is produced from the collective harvest of our grove. This means that your oil is not sourced exclusively from your adopted tree, but reflects the overall harvest.

Harvest and supply
We aim to provide a consistent annual allocation of olive oil as part of your adoption. Olive oil production depends on natural conditions such as weather and harvest yields. In exceptional circumstances beyond our control, we may adjust fulfillment while ensuring a fair and equivalent experience.

Access and visits
We may offer you the opportunity to visit your adopted tree. Please note:

  • the grove is located on private land

  • visits are only possible by prior arrangement with us

  • access without permission is not allowed

  • we reserve the right to limit or deny access for operational, safety, or agricultural reasons

Visitors enter the property at their own risk, and must follow any guidance provided by us or our local partners.

Non-investment nature
Tree adoption is a lifestyle and experience offering. It is not an investment product and does not provide financial returns, ownership rights, or profit participation.

Personal use
Adoptions are intended for personal enjoyment or gifting and not for commercial resale.

4. Orders and contract formation

By placing an order, you make an offer to purchase a product.

A contract is formed only when we confirm your order by email.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel orders for legitimate reasons, including suspected fraud or errors in pricing.

Your rights of withdrawal and returns are set out in our Refund Policy.

5. Prices and payment

All prices are shown in EUR and include VAT unless stated otherwise.

Shipping costs and any additional charges are clearly indicated before checkout.

You agree to provide valid payment information and authorize us to charge the applicable amount.

6. Shipping and delivery

Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed.

Risk of loss or damage passes to you when the goods are delivered to you or a person designated by you, in accordance with EU consumer law.

We are not responsible for delays caused by carriers or circumstances beyond our control, but we will assist where possible.

7. Right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the EU, you have a legal right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of delivery, as described in our Refund Policy.

This right may not apply to certain goods, such as sealed food products once opened.

9. Third-party services

Our Services are hosted by Shopify and may include third-party tools.

10. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by negligence

  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

  • breach of consumer rights under applicable law

To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the purchase price of the relevant product.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

11. Warranties

We are legally required to supply products that conform to the contract.

If a product is defective or not as described, you are entitled to remedies under applicable consumer law.

12. Force majeure

We are not liable for failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to our Services if you breach these Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands.

If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also rely on mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.

15. Disputes

The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform:
https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/
